On this day in 1969, the grooviest event in music history-the Woodstock Musical Festival-draws to a close after three days of peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll in upstate New York. 3

2. What was the Berlin Wall? When was it built? Why was it built? When did it come down?

The Berlin Wall was a physical barrier separating West Berlin from the German Democratic Republic, including East Berlin. The longer inner German border demarcated the border between East and West Germany. Both borders came to symbolize the Iron Curtain between Western and Eastern Europe. The wall separated the two German states for 28 years and 1 day, from the day construction began on August 13, 1961 until it was dismantled beginning in late 1989, and was considered to be a longtime symbol of Iron Curtain.3

MTV is an American cable television network based in New York City. Launched on August 1, 1981, the original purpose of the channel was to play music videos guided by on-air hosts known as VJs. Today, MTV still plays a limited selection of music videos, but the channel primarily broadcasts a variety of pop culture and reality television shows targeted at adolescents and young adults.3

Video game culture is a form of new media culture that has been influenced by video games. As computer and video games have increased exponentially in popularity over time, they have caused significant impact upon popular culture.3

Different events in history have an effect on how people dressed during those times. For instance, during World War 2 people were only allowed to use the minimum amount of clothing materials needed to create simple outfits that were practical enough for wartime duties.
